The Veteran hip life artiste, Joe Frazier who doubles as one of the finest rhymers sometime ago in our Ghanaian music industry has declare his displeasure over the production of shoddy songs by our contemporary artistes. The doyen musician in an interview with DJ Roar of Kessben FM “Entertainment Cirkle” inpute the growing blight to the abundance of cheap recording studio and sound engineers in Ghana. He added;
“In our time, the competition was very high. Those times hip life wasn’t common like today. As a result, getting music producer and recording studio as an up and coming artiste was very difficult. Simply put, how can a sound engineer gives you an opportunity when the likes of Daasebre Gyamenah, Reggie Rockstone et al comes into the studio?”, Joe Frazier verbally stated.
According to Joe Frazier, because of the stress up and coming artistes encountered during their era, they were very serious and well-focused in originating good music that can reign for long. That’s why Obrafour, Tic Tac, Reggie Rockstone, ExDoe, Reggie Zippy, Joe Frazier etc are still on the lips of Ghanaians although they’re not actively doing music.
He believe contemporary artistes are in hurry to release songs with less viscous lyrical content. To him, he has seen sound engineers giving beat freely to artistes to jump on. These and many more are the reason why most contemporary artistes fade out after staying relevant for less than two years as opined by the veteran hip life artiste, Joe Frazier.
